On April 4, 2015, Studio A-1 Pictures delighted action fans with the release of its new anime series Gunslinger Stratos: The Animation. The studio for several years now has been setting the bar high in the anime industry, so its anime series always become very popular. This one is no exception – Gunslinger Stratos: The Animation has been immediately picked up by Aniplex of America and streaming services Crunchyroll, Hulu and Viewster.
Such interest is not surprising – Gunslinger Stratos: The Animation has a very exciting plot. There are two worlds: one is ruled by anarchy, and in the other the state controls its citizens who are divided into castes as in some dystopia. These two worlds are absolutely identical, they are located in parallel universes; but then something happens and the two worlds begin to converge. As a result, there will be only one left, but which one – that will be decided by teams of fighters which consist of look-alikes who were specially selected in each of the worlds.
The setting for the fighting is Japan circa 2015. Toru Kazasumi, the main character, who belongs to the D caste, but secretly dreams of becoming the "alpha", suddenly gets a chance to fulfill his dream. He, like Neo, runs after a white rabbit - a digital copy of the non-existent younger sister and together with his classmate Kyoka Katagiri falls directly in Tokyo in 2015 right in the middle of the fight between the two teams and has to face his look-alike from the other world.
It should be noted, that look-alikes are identical in appearance and DNA, but not in character. In fact, people face their "dark half" and, most likely, for that reason they have no doubt of whether to join in the battle with themselves. So, Toru also becomes part of a team, although he is shocked by what is going on, especially when he finds out that there are many of his friends and even classmates on a team.
The plot is packed with mysteries. The storyline develops quickly and from the start captures viewers’ attention. The graphics is great featuring amazing urban landscapes and dynamic battles. These are the things viewers enjoy, and 12 episodes for an epic and intertemporal and inter-world sci-fi thriller is really not enough. So, we won’t be surprised if the studio decides to make another season. It is possible that season 2 of Gunslinger Stratos: The Animation will be released in the spring of 2016. However, nothing is official yet, so check back with us for the latest news, or subscribe to our updates and get automatically notified of the release date of Gunslinger Stratos: The Animation season 2.

Some say he’s half man half fish, others say he’s more of a seventy/thirty split. Either way he’s a fishy bastard.
