On July 3, 2015 a new series about school life on Mars was released on Japanese channels BS-TBS, Chubu-Nippon Broadcasting Co., Ltd, Mainichi Broadcasting System, and Tokyo Broadcasting System. Outside of Japan the Classroom Crisis is aired on AnimeLab (Australia and New Zealand), Aniplex Channel, Crunchyroll, Daisuki, Viewster (Latin America, Scandinavia, Spain, Portugal, Russia, Iran and Turkey) and the internet-channel Wakanim.tv.

Such interest of cable channels to this series is quite simple: the plot includes high school students, who are technological geniuses that solve all their problems using a number of scientific approaches. A Mars-based A-TEC academy (Advanced Technological Development Department, Educational Development Class) is sponsored by a large corporation. The main characters of the series are extraordinary students who do a lot of extraordinary things, like develop a new revolutionary space engine. The action starts with the fact that a new exchange student who is supposed to come to the school from another planet disappears on the way. It turns out that he became a hostage and the students, lead by their teacher (also an engineer in the Corporation) have to come to his rescue.

This is a very positive anime series that show all of the benefits of team spirit and the best of choosing society over personal gain. The graphics are great – the world of anime is bright and transparent, the heroes, though standard, are full of life and make the viewer fall in love with them right away.

Possibly, the plot looks very production-like, but slice-stories are popular nowadays and it looks like this series will have a sequel. If DVD sales are high, the second season will most likely come out in the spring of 2016. The producers are yet to set the release date of a second season, so check back with us for the latest news, or subscribe to our notifications and get the premiere date of Snow White with the Classroom Crisis season 2 automatically sent to your inbox as soon as it is officially announced.

Some say he’s half man half fish, others say he’s more of a seventy/thirty split. Either way he’s a fishy bastard.
